The 'old rugged cross' over the church had to be removed due to deterioration and, ultimately, storm damage from the 'derecho' wind storm a few months ago. It took awhile to get it scheduled, but it was taken down yesterday morning (01/22/21) quickly and safely thanks to Kale and Dustin from Northwest Erection. It was built from solid timber planks (supposedly from a single tree), treated with creosote, it was approximately 66ft tall, freestanding, and was about 68 years old. We plan to build a new one in a few months.
