We are planning a yard clean-up day on Saturday, May 7, starting at 9am. I expect the bulk of the work to take about three hours. If, however, we run longer, we will provide lunch. Please bring rakes and shovels if you have them, wheelbarrows and tarps might be useful also. We have a few specific tasks that need to be done that day, as well as a couple of follow up items:
- Clean out the landscaping and borders of leaves and debris
- Rake around the new fence and damaged lawn areas to remove clumps and bits of concrete, smooth surface and reseed. We plan to bring in some dirt for this as well. If we don’t have enough we’ll schedule a follow up day to finish.
- I would also like to get two or three people to help me on Wed, May 4, sometime after 4pm, to pick up sticks in the yard before we mow again. A large amount has fallen on the northeast side of the property in the high winds we've been having.
- In the coming weeks, once the new concrete areas are backfilled we will need to rake and spread grass seed there as well.
- Lastly, if you would be able to help us keep the new seed areas watered each day, that would be a big help. I’d like to set up a rotating schedule with several people so one person doesn’t have to do it every day.
